      yes

my teachers did not think I was very good at school and they told me that I should get a job and not go to university

I have a big brother who was very brainy at school so they kept telling me he was smarted than me so I should not worry about school work

      I didn’t listen to them …and I am now a scientist 🙂

Yes, I had quite a difficult time at school. I was bullied quite badly when I was in high school and I didn’t enjoy going into some of my classes. Things got much better though and I ended up enjoying school at lot more 🙂
I also injured my hand when I was at school and that stopped me playing musical instruments (which I loved doing!) – that was very upsetting at the time!

Yes. I am actually registered blind, although i have partial sight which meant i faced a lot of challenges growing up. I had to work out how to do things my own way and how to make the most oif what sight i have. In the end this has i feel made me more resilient and stronger and determined to succeed.

Yes, I was often bullied, both in primary and secondary school. This was because I was interested in learning, and sometimes because I wore glasses.

I didn’t take much notice of the bullies, but it is something that happens quite a bit unfortunately. Always believe in yourself, and don’t think the bullies are right. They never are.
