• Question: How do you measure somebody’s breath

      I use a Mass Spectrometer (or MS)

      you breath straight into a tube that is connected to the MS

      The MS then breaks down your breath into its smallest bits

      Those bits are then pushed down a very small but very long tube.

      Where those bits stick to the tube tells us about what they are made of.

      We then know about all the bits in your breath 🙂
