• Question: When you get older does your eagerness to pace yourself lack ?

      Nice question. Not so much the eagerness but perhaps more the ability to sustain pace. What we do know is that older people pace better than younger ones. This due to what we call ‘global experience’. This is simply that the older we are the more times we have been exposed to situations where we have to make decisions and where we have been exposed to the conditions associated with the exercise. But there is a also a loss of physical fitness as we get older which means that there will be a point where although we have all of the abilities to pace properly we do not have the fitness to hold this pace.
