there are scales that we use to ask how people feel ….usually 1-5 scales or 1-10 scales

they are questions that you can give the answers too

what I want to do is see if the body gives me different answers to what people say

are they sad or excited even what they say they are not ?

You can ask people to put how they feel in numbers, as Martin says, on a scale of 1-10 or something, which makes it a lot easier to look at the data.

You can also ask people to write how they feel in a box, which means you get a more accurate answer, but it will be nearly impossible to organise. You have to decide which way you want to go.

There are a variety of scales. We have scales which are using numbers from 1-20 or oddly 7-20 which can be used to tell how you feel. We can also ask this question of how for example do you legs feel using the same scale. We can also use what are referred to as pain scales, where we draw a line of 10cm and at the left state no pain and the right high pain. We then mark where our pain or how we feel sits on this line and measure the distance.
